  • Weave Mustache?!?!

    Posted on by IHH Staff

Ever heard that your hair extension weft has a mustache? If you haven’t, well it’s the short overlapping hair that hangs below the sewed weft.

This mustache made up of the cuticle of your hair extensions and is necessary so that your hair extensions don’t shed after it has been sewed. The mustache should not be longer than ½ inch and neatly overlapped, so that it doesn’t matt during washing and maintenance of your hair extensions also it will cut down on any itchy sensations.

Check out pictures below of a bad mustache.

  • What did you say…Bob!

    Posted on by Andrew Waters

Dear Hair Lovers what can I say…I personal love me some Bob. Bob never fails me and I’ll love Bob all year long if treated right!

The Bob I’m talking about is my hair style the Bob. It’s just a classic style if it is done right. It all starts with the cut for me. Figuring out if I need angles, dimension, or more definition is the first thing I discuss when talking to my hair stylist. Then the length, the closure and finally the COLOR! I’m always inspired by looking in the most cutting edge hair magazines.

Since I’m a lover of hair extensions, I have to factor in the texture of the hair that I wanted to achieve the perfect Bob. In the Spring and Summer months it’s usually a wavy Indian Remy that I can wear both straight and wavy in between salon visits as well as when I’m at the beach. During the Fall and Winter months I gravitate towards a straight Indian Remy it is easy to maintain on my own and holds up well during the colder months.

So to get to the right Bob this Summer, see pictures below, my stylist and I decided to go for a long Bob layered cut at a 45 degree angle with a dramatic drop in the front and a bang closure. If you haven’t tried a closure for a full sew in, it is the business and a great way to achieve a more natural look with hair extensions. I wanted the color to be rich and decided I would have her lift my natural brown hair extensions to a deep red that I totally HEART!

My Bob came out fun, flirty, red and ready for the long hot Summer months.

    Until the next blog,
    Loving Hair!

  • Net It and Forget It!

    Posted on by IHH Staff

Would you like your hair extension hair style to hold a little longer? Have you tired wearing a weaving net? Do you want to get your money out of that sew-in? I know I do!

Wearing a weave net can help your extension style last 2 to 3 months; depending on how you maintenance your style. It is a sturdy alternative to just simply sewing the hair directly to your braided hair. Ever since I started wearing hair extensions, years ago, I’ve always worn a net. It gives you an opportunity to braid all your hair and have it protected from heat that you may apply to your style. The net is recommended for those who want less stress on their natural hair as well as for women that have experience hair loss, thin or thinning, and damaged hair in need of repair. Just make sure that you or your stylist purchases a breathable net so that your hair is not holding heat or moisture that could lead to a fungal growth on your scalp.

So try a weaving net cap, it’s an easy installation and removal, then love your hair extensions to their true lifespan!

    Until the next blog,

    Loving Hair!
