Candace Mitchell is a graduate of Georgia Tech as well as the co-founder and CEO of Atlanta based high-tech hair company Techturized Incorporated. She was recently recognized by Forbes on their 30 Under 30 Retail & E-Commerce list and is set to receive the 'Next In Class' award for STEM at the BET Honors. Techturized is a personalized hair care service that recommends products as well as serviced based on a scientific analysis of the consumers hair type and texture. The company has placed 1st in competitions at SXSW, Shark Pitch Atlanta and PowerMoves NOLA just to name a few. Techturized is contributing to the continuing growth of the current 3 billion dollar African American hair care industry. Candace has worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Siemens and PepsiCo but ultimately followed her dreams and vision of becoming an entrepreneur. With a passion to inspire today's youth to pursue careers in STEM fields, she is definitely using her gift and skills to empower as well as influence the culture of the future. Candace and co-founder Chanel Martin have managed to create something so amazing that has gained attention from Ebony, Black Enterprise, Business Insider, MSNBC's Melissa Harris Perry, and daytime talk show The Real. In her interview with Madame Noire, Candace states she is most inspired by "creating generational wealth for my family and the African-American community as a whole, so that we can overcome poverty and be in a greater position of ownership and economic opportunity."
